Borrowing rUSD
Prerequisites
To borrow rUSD, you must first supply eligible collateral to the Rheofi Protocol and enable it as collateral on your dashboard. Only assets with a non-zero collateral factor can be used to back rUSD borrowing. The amount of rUSD you can mint depends on the value and collateral factor of your supplied assets.
How to Mint / Borrow rUSD
- Navigate to the rUSD section on app.rheofi.com.
- Ensure you have supplied and enabled collateral in a supported market.
- Enter the amount of rUSD you wish to mint.
- Review the impact on your health factor and borrow limit.
- Confirm the transaction in your wallet.
The minted rUSD is sent directly to your wallet and can be used immediately across DeFi.
Interest Rates
Borrowing rUSD incurs a stability fee — an interest rate set through governance that accrues over time on your outstanding rUSD balance. This rate is designed to balance demand for rUSD minting with protocol sustainability. Check the current rate on the rUSD dashboard before borrowing.
Repayment
To repay your rUSD debt:
- Go to the rUSD section and click Repay.
- Enter the amount to repay (partial or full).
- Approve rUSD spending if needed, then confirm the transaction.
Repaying reduces your borrow balance and improves your health factor.
Maintaining Collateral Ratio
After borrowing rUSD, monitor your collateral ratio closely. If the value of your collateral drops or interest accrues, your health factor may decline toward the liquidation threshold. Add more collateral or repay a portion of your rUSD debt to maintain a safe margin.
